Hello everyone! I am Sally, and I am a Senior Internet Content Analyst at the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) in the UK. Prior to this, I worked in a computer game company for 5 years. I have been a volunteer moderator, and could be considered a moderator of sorts in my current role. I am looking forward to learning lots in the training, and to meeting fellow emoderation students. |

Hi all, I'm Tim. I'm a complete newbie to moderating, coming from a teaching and programming background. I've just passed my training and was wondering if anyone had any tips / advice on finding work and getting started. Thanks |

Hi Tim, Firstly let me say many congratulations on successfully passing our course :-) Our training does serve as a great way for would-be moderators to gain a professional qualification and an ideal route to validate their online moderation skills. As a tip we advise our moderators to set up a Google alert for 'moderation jobs', there are lots of virtual/part-time opportunities that come up online via this method. We also advertise moderation opportunities regularly on our Facebook and other social media channels. We wish you the best of luck with finding a job very soon. Best wishes, Annie |

Abena Eyeson | HI. I am Abena. I am doing the Moderation course and have just passed module 4. I am new to online moderation, but learning a lot though the course. I wanted to ask about Moderation Matters. I have been on the Moderation Matters facebook page and there are no postings this year. Is Moderation matters still operational? |

Hi Abena, Great to see you are progressing through the training. Only one more module to go... :) Regarding your question about Moderation Matters - we haven't actually launched it as yet. We have decided to concentrate on Moderation Gateway during it's first year although Moderaiton Matters is still in development. We would like to build a strong database of moderators who have been through the training and and then become members of the Register of Trained Moderators (RTM). In the meantime (before Moderation Matters becomes operational) we regularly post positions for moderators on our Facebook page so it's definitely worth checking in to see what's new :) We also get some clients asking us to let our moderators know they have a vacancy as well which we also do on Moderation Gateway's Facebook page. When we do launch Moderation Matters we will be writing to all our certified moderators and students to let them know about it. Good luck with the rest of the training and please feel free to drop me an email if you need any more info - annie@moderationgateway.com. All the best ![]() |

Hello, This is Claire from California. I am taking the course now and wondering if there is a way to view our score? It is nice to know I passed Module 1, but how can I know if I made any mistakes and what they are? |

Hi Claire - great to hear from you. We have designed the certificate training with the focus of students meeting a required benchmark. In order to maintain the integrity of the questions we are unable to give out any of the answers as this would compromise the assessment. The thing to remember is that by achieving a pass mark for an individual module you have met the required standard of learning to enable you to move on to the next round of learning:) Please feel free to contact me again if you have any other questions. Good luck with the rest of the training and I hope you are enjoying it ![]() |
