I am on page 26 of module 1. The module gives us two different websites to report certain abuses to, mostly referring to situations that are sexually explicit or harmful with minors. However these are both UK sites. I am from a country outside of the UK. I won't be specific but I'm in North America. Is there a North American version of wach of these two sites or would I just send it to the UK sites anyway. Do they have jurisdiction on North American online sites? www.iwf.uk.org#sthash.RqAo00Q9.dpuf www.inhope.org Or do I just send all child offending stuff to The National Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) www.missingkids.com/home#sthash.RqAo00Q9.dpuf because they are on my side of the world. Sorry I'm not trying to share my personal info but it was necessary to say what part of the world I live in so the feedback I get is consistant with the information I need to know. |

Hi Dawn :) I know the IWF are extremely helpful when it comes to reporting child sexual abuse and they do have contacts all over the world. However, let me investigate your query and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks. Annie ![]() |

Hi Dawn, I've done some investigation. The Canadian Centre for Child Protection operates Cybertip.ca. This is a comprehensive service for reporting child sexual abuse online. Here is a description of the organisation taken from their website: The Canadian Centre for Child Protection is a charitable organization dedicated to the personal safety of all children. Our goal is to reduce child victimization by providing national programs and services to the Canadian public. The Canadian Centre for Child Protection operates Cybertip.ca, Canada's tipline for reporting the online sexual exploitation of children. The tipline has been in operation since September 26, 2002 and was adopted under the Government of Canada’s National Strategy for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation on the Internet in May 2004. You can report directly online via www.cybertip.ca. It is also supported by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I hope this has answered your question. Thanks for your query and we will add this link to our training for any other Canadian students :) |
