Moderation Gateway said Hello, for me, mostly: learning something that could allow me to work from home; the training looked like a good investment for the future and affordable at that moment; somebody I know recommended it. At first I also thought I could moderate without any training, but after I changed my mind totally! So much information that I would just underrate, like PII and the attitude towards grooming, bullying and suicide threats. The training also made me rethink the way I post PII online and recalled to mind episodes of bullying I assisted when I was in school, and how important is having somebody that can handle that, because it's difficult for a teenager to report somebody in the "group".. However, now that I'm aware of the social value of a moderator I understand better the reason of the training and the responsibilities connected to the job.. |
